General Position Summary:

Responsible for providing support to the Quality department by inspecting material to assure dimension/tolerance, from the Production departments, assisting in the improvement of quality machined parts through First Article process final inspection and interactions with Production personnel. 

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for quality inspection of machined products through first article inspections, in process inspections, and final inspection. 

2. Support operations by inspecting and verifying quality of incoming raw materials, work in process, finished products and packaging of outgoing finished product.

3. Works from work orders, work instructions, and engineering specifications to determine quality objectives are met.

4. Uses geometrical dimensioning and tolerance (GD&T) to determine product conformance.

5. Uses inspection equipment including micrometers, calipers, thread gages, comparators, microscopes, and assists with CMM inspection.

6. Assists in Calibration and the monitoring of inspection equipment used for production acceptance.

7. Assists in the maintenance of quality management system policies, procedures, and work instructions.

8. Documents Non-Conformances using NCR processes and assists with processing customer returns.

9. Performs work in accordance with the AS9100D and ISO/AS quality standard.

10. Supports continuous improvement within the quality department.

11. Assists to ensure the ongoing effectiveness of the GrovTec Quality Management System through day-to-day monitoring/oversight activities of process/procedures, audits and improvement projects. 

12. Understands company’s Operational Excellence directive and is responsible for quality and continuous improvement within the job scope. 

13. Performs other duties as required.

Specific Job Skills:

1. Able to work from blueprints, diagrams and customer specifications using a variety of measuring equipment, such as fixed limit gauges, micrometers and calipers in the verification process.

2. Demonstrated technical writing skills.

3. Ability to comprehend and interpret basic statistical data.  

4. Positive interpersonal/communication skills, to assist when needed, in the training and process improvement of a diverse variety of individuals through difficult situations. 

5. Must be detail oriented and have good time management skills.

6. Eye for detail with a methodical approach to problem solving.

7. Ability to work as part of a team.  

8. Ability to be adaptable in all situations including to process with time constraints

9. Must be able to work within the set Departmental and Organizational expectations and assist in reaching department and organizational goals/objectives.

Education and/or Experience:

1. High school diploma or equivalent and some college education desired.

2. Two or more years in a manufacturing inspection/quality control’s roles or equivalent preferred.

3. Manufacturing Technology courses a plus. 

4. Computer skills to include Microsoft Word and Excel spreadsheets.

5. Interested in machining/mechanically inclined. 

6. Able to communicate professionally and successfully with others. 

7. Ability to work independently in a team environment.
