CNC MILL SET UP OPERATOR

  

OVERALL JOB PURPOSE:

Responsible for the setup and production in milling department. Operates and sets up multiple CNC machines and performs general maintenance. Set work offsets and offset tooling.


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  

Loads and starts-up machines.

Operates one or more machines to produce parts as directed.

Ability to work from layout sheets to setup jobs.

Ability to setup machines according to production strategy.

Trouble shooting is a plus.

Reads blueprints, drawings, and job orders for information such as dimensions, tolerances, and number of work pieces.

Have the ability to make offset and program changes to keep dimensions within specified tolerances.

Verifies conformance of production parts to specifications using various measuring instruments.

Ability to create and make fixtures

Performs maintenance on the machines as required.

Works effectively with little to no supervision.

Performs work in accordance with International Standards for this position.

Understands company Operational Excellence directive and is responsible for quality and continuous improvement within the job scope.

Quality Assurance Manager / QMS Rep.

  

OVERALL JOB PURPOSE:

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Contributes to plant operational excellence by Inspecting and verifying quality of all raw materials, product in production and packaging of finished product. Rejects substandard items. Works from blueprints, diagrams and customer specifications using a variety of measuring equipment, such as fixed limit gauges, micrometers and calipers in the verification process. CMM experience a plus.
  2. This is a hands-on position, overseeing processes on the floor daily and working with employees to resolve quality issues. 
  3. Assist production supervisors and lead personnel in training of proper production methods to assure quality of product. Trains warehouse personnel regarding quality specifications, requirements and procedures for incoming materials. 
  4. ISO/AS - Maintains all ISO/AS registration compliance documentation for policies, procedures and work instructions for facility. Coordinates change order process and maintains record keeping. Writes work instructions and procedures and assists/trains supervisors/managers to ensure they document their necessary work instructions/procedures. 
  5. Documents detection of quality errors to include identification of initial problem, a solution, and required follow-up. Tracks reject rates and customer returns. Assists Engineering and Production in writing specification sheets for all finished products. Performs stress analysis testing on products and documents results. 
  6. Engineering - Works with Engineering and Production to communicate quality standards and      specifications on all new products, current product changes and OEM products. 
  7. Performs work in accordance with the ISO/AS quality standards for this position. 
  8. Understands company’s Operational Excellence directive and is responsible for quality and continuous improvement within the job scope. 

ESSENTIAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  

Responsible for selection, appraisal and salary recommendations of reporting subordinates. Directs and leads team to continually improve performance, bench strength and developmental needs. Provides appropriate feedback, coaching and mentoring to ensure high levels of success within the department.

  • High school diploma and Quality Assurance courses or equivalent. College degree desired.
  • Experience requirements include 3 to 5 years of experience as a dedicated QA Technician or Quality Manager in a machining facility/industry
  • Proficient in the use of measuring devices such as comparators, ring, plug, height, and thread gauges, calipers and micrometers. 
  • Computer skills to include Microsoft Word and Excel spreadsheets.
  • Demonstrated technical writing skills to include experience writing work instructions for ISO compliance. 
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret statistical data. 
  • Positive interpersonal skills to train a diverse variety of individuals. 
  • Must be detail oriented and have good time management skills.
  • Eye for detail with a methodical approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.

Wickman set up operator

OVERALL JOB PURPOSE:

  1. Experience with WICKMAN automatic screw machines
  2. Hands on experience with performing setups
  3. Demonstrated ability to verify part conformity using micrometers, calipers, dial indicators and other gauges
  4. Ability to read, analyze, and understand setup sheets and part drawings
  5. Ability to troubleshoot, setup and/or run performance issues to improve production and decrease downtime
  6. Sharpens tools as required
  7. Performs maintenance on the machines as required
  8. Works effectively with little supervision
  9. Performs work in accordance with International Standards for this position
